So, a couple years ago my fiance and I both worked at Disneyland on the Indiana Jones ride. One day the ride broke down right when my fiance was about to put on Judd, Iris, and Maude; he was explaining that they might not be able to ride right then and Maude told him he must not like his job.
This confused him and he responded "no, I love woking at Disneyland"
She corrected herself and said "No, you must not like telling people they can't go on rides"
He just nodded at that and said "yep"
We are used to having to tell kids that it's not our fault that they can't ride and even have to deal with temper tantrums -which we understand, they are disappointed. But that was one of the few times that a kid not only understood, but empathized with us.
The Apatows have raised a lovely insightful daughter and I have all the respect in the world for that family!
