Yeah. Parvati and Padma Patil are specifically mentioned to be Indian, Angelina Johnson to be black, and Lavender's the white, english girl.

Lavenda is never mentioned as black in the BOOK. it is clear that since in PoA lavenda didn't even has any line, the makers just want to have more black in the movies, eg that nigel kid explains everything is PoA. marketing strategy is my guess and it is not uncommon.

            The book
            DOESN'T
say so!! Don't say that you're 'pretty sure' about that without bothering to check the books first!! The filmmakers made a mistake. They had a lot of extras and thought it good to give them randomly some of the characters of the book, but had they known that Lavender was to become Ron's girlfriend in book six, they would have bothered to ask Jo about her. sigh I'm so sick of discussing this topic!!

Do you just find topic subjects and post on them without reading the rest of the posts?
If you had bothered, you wouldn't be looking like an a-hole right now.
Nobody forced you to discuss the topic at all, so therefore, nobody cares about how sick you are with it.

                Bothering to check the books?
I think when we're discussing a body of work comprised of 7 books and maybe 5000 pages of text, we can accept "pretty sure."
Additionally, I believe the comment about Harry being unable to tell whose hands they were was more to do with the ferventness of the action and less to do with the color of their skin. Like the phrase "where one ends and the other begins."

I'm glad to see someone else agrees that it's just a figure of speech referring to the business of the hands and less about the color of the skin. I was starting to think I might be wrong about that.

Wait, was Lavendar Brown even in any of the movies? If so, I they never really mention her or anythingI always imagined Lavendar as having blond hair.

There was a character with no lines that was in the background of several scenes in PoA that was given Lavender's name; at that point HBP wasn't out yet and Lavender wasn't an important character, so they just kind of gave someone her name.
