Martin and Lewis TV movie from 2002 brought me here (both movies are available on you tube for free).
In the TV movie from 2002 there is a scene where Martin and Lewis are making this circus movie - and that is where they started to break apart.
The split up in 1956 - so their feud brooded for 2 years.
Now I read that Zsa Zsa Gabor and leading actress from this movie also were no bad terms and they fought behind the camera, too.
There was a whole lot of drama behind the exterior comedy.

I've read that Zsa Zsa Gabor threatened to get even with Joanne Dru for something. I don't know if the feud did continue after the movie.
