I was watching Irate Gamer, and discovered through reviews and comments on that guy's videos where I heard, N5b4erd fans were bashing the beep out of him. So I checked out this Angry Video Game Nerd. And ya know, I gave up Irate Gamer and have been a fan of James Rolfe ever since. They only thing I do not care for that he's done is the concept of beep

Wizard of Oz 3 and the beep Pickle videos were the first I saw of his work. In terms of game reviews, I honestly don't remember the first one I saw.

I had just finished re-watching Who Framed Roger Rabbit and was looking around youtube for the old Roger Rabbit Warner cartoons. I found his Roger Rabbit review, it was the dawn of a new day 😄

I heard they were remaking Friday The 13th so I went to find the trailer for it and in related videos I saw his review of Friday The 13th on the NES. I stayed up all night watching AVGN videos.

I can't quite recall how, but I imagine I was YouTubing "A Nightmare On Elm Street" and a game review came up in the search results and so I clicked on it and from that moment on I was hooked and felt shameful nobody informed about how truly brilliant and hilarious this series was a few years back. He's taught me so much about games, I barely knew anything about them back then and now I've learnt to cherish them for what they truly are, memories, instead of just playing the game and not paying attention to every other aspect of effort put into them.

I first got the internet in 2008 (My Folks didn't understand it, they finally gave it when I was a Freshman in High School.) I was just figuring out You Tube at the time, and I was looking up Friday the 13th Stuff as I was trying to become a fan of it and ran into the F13th game video. I was amazed someone made bad games funny and wanted to watch more, so I watched the NOES follow up review and I have been hooked since. All these videos symbolized my life of dealing with crappy games, and I felt a instant connection to them.
Since then I have grown into a fan of his other s238tuff and since 2008 James has become a hero of mine. He made liking entertainment and games look cool, I hope he continues to gain success as it's much deserved.

I discovered him in I think 2010. I just went on a YouTube-spree and watched some stuff and stumbled upon a Top 10 Movie Monsters video made by him. I watched it and really liked his voice and his in depth information and went on and watched all of the Top 10s, like the best Shoot outs, the best Martial Arts fights, the best Jackie Chan stunts and so on. Then I discovered cinemassacre and spent a couple of days with watching every AVGN episode and every Monster Madness and till now I'm faithful to his site and his YouTube channel. Great guy! Hope there'll be either more recognition for him after the AVGN movie, or at least he's putting new videos out.

Through his fight with the Nostalgia Critic back in 2008. I had been a fan of the NC for a couple months and kept seeing references to some game nerd.

Last year, when I first learned of Nightmare on Elm Street game on Nintendo and wanted to see the game-play of it. I saw his video in the top search, but I didn't want to watch it at first since I'm not that big of a fan on reviews in general. I finally watched it when I was curious why that particular video had so many views.
Besides the amount of profanity and waste-related humor, I did enjoy he made some valid points about the games he reviewed and there were some funny parts which made me subscribe him.
Woe to the vacant minds whose mouth runs like rushing water.

It was a few months ago. I was reading an article about the toughest videogames ever and Battletoads was one of the games listed. I typed it in Youtube, his was the first video. Loved him ever since.

One day I watched Man of Steel and thought, "hm, I wonder when they'll make a good superman game" I remembered playing superman 64 and decided to read about how bad it was on wikipedia. I never got past the first two levels so I decided to see it on youtube. Came across AVGN and the superman 64 review.
I'm telling you, I laughed so hard I cried. Could relate to EVERYTHING he said. I was seriously in tears.
