For anyone who doesn't know, the scandal from the early 90s involving a figure skater (tonya harding) paying someone to attack another skater (nancy kerrigan) in order to better her chances of winning is being made into a film called, "I, Tonya". Margot Robbie has been cast at the lead character, Tonya Harding.I'm sure she'll do a great job but, one of the reasons why Nancy Kerrigan was more popular than Tonya were her looks. She is far more beautiful than Tonya and she was super jealous about it. That's not the only reason for the attack but, it's definitely one of them.
Now that the movie is being made, I don't understand why they would hire such a beautiful actress like Margot Robbie to play the role of Tonya. They either have to change how Margot looks considerably or they have to completely take away her motive of being jealous of Nancy's looks. Can you imagine Margot saying anything about not being as pretty as someone else? Coming from her it's a joke unless the actress playing Nancy Kerrigan is actually more beautiful than Margot is. It's just kind of ridiculous to hire an actress who actually looks better than the real Nancy Kerrigan is and she was supposed to be the beauty in this situation. -

Why can't a movie be made about something that has happened 20 years ago? Is there a certain amount of time that goes by when an event is no longer eligible for a movie treatment? I guess you have a big problem with every single historical film made. I bet "Gladiator" really pissed you off since thousands of years have gone by since that time frame. Or, I guess what you're saying is that this particular story doesn't matter anymore since it's been 20 years. I respect that opinion but, lots of people would be interested in seeing something that was so s1c84candalous and dramatic including me, regardless of how long it's been. The makers are betting on it.

Just googled them and they are on a par really, although I'd say Tonya is probably slightly prettier tonne because I like petite women and defined features. Neither look anything like Margot but at least Tonya is blonde and petite; Nancy is brunette and looks giant.

exactly, my gosh, so you pick one of the most beautiful girls in the world to play a very average, almost bad looking girl? but that's hollywood for you. it's going to be really hard making margot look average. and also for some reason they casted emma stone to play billy jean king in a movie? this is maybe the worst casting ever. emma looks nothing at all like billy in the '70s.
