I think his head is a little overinflated. He hit popularity pretty fast, and has an eccentric quirky side that Hollyweird finds interesting.
I used to rather like him, but these days, I can't stand him. The last thing I watched him in that I enjoyed was Dune. He's become a bit of a muppet lately.
I know his comments about ballet and opera are old and he's been using the same line for years. He's said the same line ages ago and must somehow think it's still funny.

I have never been to an opera, but I have heard recordings.
Have I ever been to the Ballet?
No.
Thanks to the magic that is TV and Video, I have been able to see, hear and appreciate The Arts. At what age???

Our family enjoyed Sunday nights with Ed Sullivan throughout my childhood.
Sadly, Timothee never had that in his life.
