What did he do that was so bad?

All the excuses people have for hating him, yet they hated him long before he ever did any of those things.
It's a weird social phenomenon that we all decided to make this random young guy the symbol of celebrity hate. It's really weird. -

Why do people "love" him?
They "loved" him for his looks, not his singing or anything else.
Now that he's not a "cute teen" anymore, they don't love him anymore.
At least the "haters" were always consistent.

More consistent but far less sympathetic. I can understand why a young woman would be fixated on the looks of a young celebrity man.
But I can't understand why somebody would be worked into a rage over the apparent popularity of Justin Bieber. Especially to the point where so many people seem just as obsessed with him as his tween girl fans. I suppose there's a psychological explanation, but it's still much more abnormal than an innocent celeb-crush. -

This exactly. I'm definitely not a Justin fan in the sense of a "fan". My type of music is rock/indie/electronic. Do I like some of his past and current music? Sure, he definitely has a few catchy songs, but I've never bought an album or considered myself even a casual fan. The thing that got me to even look into his newer music (after his "Baby" phase) was the fact that so many people on message boards and comments on Youtube, would bring him up, in subjects that had ZERO to do with pop music, let along him, lol. He literally had haters just because - obsessive ones. That made me curious to look up what he's been up to and then, in essence, listen to and enjoy more of his music. A lot of these people are groupthink bandwagoners. Oooooh, everrryone hates Bieber so I'll bash him too!
Puhlease. A young rich celebrity kid, turned into a young adult rebel. And people want to hang him, like the outcome was a surprise? Nah, it's called having no mind of your own. Half the people complaining about him have probably done way worse than him when they were his age. I know I have
Anyway, I've reached the age where I really don't give a sh!t about celebrity personal lives. As long as they entertain me (actors and musicians), then I'm 16d0interested. If he keeps coming out with sh!t like "Sorry" I just
might
eventually become a fan.

The big problem is that he thinks he's the most awesome singer ever while he's nothing new. I'm not gonna say he's talentless. Even though I find his music terrible, he does have some talent. But his music is not Original nor revolutionary, yet he sees himself as the best ever. This makes him arrogant, he acts likea douche and acts like a wannabe gangster.
And there is this thing in my sig too.rape is sad,but everything happens for a reason -Justin Bieber. And you admire this jagoff?

Very good points, "oos_005", esp.the ref. to your sig without having to mention it beforehand. What Jusitn was quoted as in the sig was one of the WORST things ever made, especially in the USA (yes, I know, he ain't from USA)..
Amanda Bynes is hot and Lindsay Lohan is not.

It's good to see other people feel that he didn't even do anything all that bad. Yes he's made mistakes (and has owned up to them) but as someone else posted, he got a ton of hate even before he started getting into trouble.

The video of him pretending to fall asleep and just generally not listening to the judge is the big thing, if you're going to be that disrespectful for a judge, to the law, you probably need to time out behind bars because you're unlikely to be respectful of anyone.

Of the top of my head?
That Anne frank thing
Driving under the influence
Pissing in a cleaning bucket and claiming the janitors should feel honored by that
"beep you Bill Clinton"
Several charges of assault
Well, that's of the top of my head. If you want more, just google. -

Whether you love Bieber or hate him, it's a terrific book, and should be required reading for all teenagers. -

I don't hate this kid, but I don't like him and I definitely get why people would. He suffers from a sever case of entitlement, which is why most people hate him and that's where most of his probably stem from. He's entitled to pee in a bucket, drag race, ditch a pet, cheat on his gf, spit on his fans, etc etc etc. Rules are for other people and he can do whatever he wants and that's a really ugly attitude that most people hate because we all have to follow the rules.
IMO if he didn't feel so entitled he would be an ok person, but the fact is he's been super famous and practically worshiped since he was about 14 years old so he's messed up. I feel sorry for him but at the same time I think he's a serious a-hole and basically deserves what he gets. He's gotten his hand slapped enough times and yet he hasn't changed for the better.
Stuff like talking about Anne Frank is in SUCH bad taste, but imo it's more like a young person who's put of touch with reality, like John Lennon saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus. A lot of kids say some pretty stupid things, I know when I was young I said some stupid things I'm glad haven't been spread around the world for everyone to mock.
IMO the problem with Bieber is that no one remembers he's just a kid and they have too high expectations for him while he himself has too low expectations of his own behavior.
