Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Bad Bunny

    sheetsadam1 — 6 months ago(September 29, 2025 03:35 AM)

    https://www.billboard.com/music/latin/bad-bunny-super-bowl-halftime-show-2026-headliner-1236077527/
It’s official: Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement about the news. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”
This will be the second time that the Puerto Rican megastar has graced the Super Bowl halftime show stage, having been a guest performer during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s set back in 2020. And the artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio has had another monster year: After releasing his sixth solo album,
    Debí Tirar Más Fotos
, in January — which topped the Billboard 200, becoming his fourth No. 1 on the chart, and saw each of its 17 songs reach the Billboard Hot 100, giving him more than 100 Hot 100 hits in his career — he launched an ambitious and hugely successful 30-date residency in Puerto Rico, which was so big that it boosted the island’s economy, and attracted numerous high-profile guests.
Bad Bunny's appearance will come a year after Kendrick Lamar headlined this past February, at the height of the rapper’s feud with Drake. Prior to Lamar, Usher (2024), Rihanna (2023), Dr. Dre and friends (2022), The Weeknd (2021) and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira (2020) headlined the show, since Jay-Z’s Roc Nation took over booking the event in a deal with the NFL in 2019. Lamar’s halftime show performance set a record as the most-watched of all time, at 133.5 million viewers, reportedly drawing an audience larger than the game itself.
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”
Bad Bunny’s career bona fides are undeniable: four No. 1 albums, 113 Hot 100 hits (including 15 top 10s), three Grammys, one No. 1 single and a dizzying array of firsts and records, both with Spanish-language music and overall. He’s collaborated with the likes of Cardi B, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, Ricky Martin and J Balvin, among others, and has even had a number of acting cameos, including in
    Happy Gilmore 2
    and
    Caught Stealing
in the past few months alone. He’s widely credited as one of the foremost forces that have given Spanish-language music such a prominent foothold in the United States on a mainstream level, and will be bringing that now to the biggest stage in the world.
“Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene,” said Jon Barker, senior vp of global event production for the NFL, in a statement. “As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage. We know his dynamic performances, creative vision and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment.”
The Super Bowl will be broadcast Feb. 8 live on NBC, and will be the seventh year that the halftime show will be programmed by Roc Nation, which is executive producing the show alongside Jesse Collins, produced by DPS and directed by Hamish Hamilton; Roc also serves as strategic entertainment advisor for the show. It’s also the fourth year that Apple Music will be the presenting sponsor, having first taken over in 2023 for Rihanna’s performance in Phoenix.
“The halftime show is the ultimate celebration of music and culture, and few artists embody that intersection more perfectly and authentically than Bad Bunny,” Apple vp of music, sports and Beats Oliver Schusser said in a statement. “At Apple Music, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Bad Bunny over the years and watching his meteoric rise into one of the most influential artists of our time has been truly incredible. His music has not only broken records but has elevated Latin music to the center of pop culture and we are thrilled to once again partner with the NFL and Roc Nation to deliver this historic performance to millions of fans worldwide. We know this show will be unforgettable.”
"Praise be to Allah." - President Donald J. Trump, Easter Sunday 04/05/2026

LOL at how they are making such a big fuss over something the viewers never care about.
The only unforgettable halftime show was because of an exposed tit while this pop **** is a dime a dozen and forgotten about the second it's over.
They make it seem so groundbreaking when it never is while it is just overrated pop or rap garbage.
I would be all for them bringing back marching bands.
