I'm aware there is at least one TV show that deals with the premise of a comedy centering on a group of employees at a supermarket or retail store or the like, but are there any films that have this premise?
Looking preferably for something between 1980 and the present.
    Thanks in advance.
"We're not too old for this sh*t!" -Riggs and Murtaugh, 'Lethal Weapon 4' (1998)

Comedies set in a supermarket or retail store:

      • The Promotion (2008) starring Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly
      • Employee Of The Month (2006)
      • Vratné lahve (2007) a.k.a. Empties
      • Empire Records (1995)
      • Clerks (1994) and Clerks II (2006)
      • Career Opportunities (1991)
There are also several comedy movies that are set in a mall:
      • Mallrats (1995)
      • Observe And Report (2009)
      • Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) and sequel
      • El abrazo partido (2004) a.k.a. Lost Embrace

            Home Alone
shows Kevin going to the supermarket several times.
            Zombieland
has a funny sequence in a grocery store, if you're like me and consider it a comedy.
That's right! You're about to be killed by a zamboni!
