Ultimately a great film from the mind of Baz Luhrmann whose bright, lavish style melds perfectly with the over the top flamboyance of the life of Elvis Presley. Austin Butler does an excellent job of disappearing into the role and portrays the king of rock and roll with the complexity he deserves. Tom Hanks is also good in his supporting roll, but the king here is Butler who shows off his impressive acting and singing chops in a very challenging role. Definitely worth a watch if you want to know more about Presley or already a fan. Streaming on HBOMax.

I just caught the live musical Moulin Rouge based on the movie and it doesn't disappoint. You will like it if you're a fan. They do an amazing job of mixing up the songs together.

i used to love the theater, musicals etc. but these days my utter and total disdain for other humans and social phobia wont let me. lulz. ( sorta kidding, im just lazy )

Wonderful movie and Butler is superb in the lead. What an electrifying and believable performance he gave as the king. One forgets they are watching an Elvis imposter.
