I've never heard of "river boarding" before. River "boating," sure. "Surfboarding," sure.
We have lots of people on these paddle board type things, where they're standing and using a giant oar to paddle their way across a lake. Never seen anything like that on a river.

When I was younger, we used to go "tubing" on this huge river. We'd get rides to get far up the river to a launching place, and our rides would drive back down the river at our meeting spot to pick us up. It was fun bobbing along in the cold water.
