Thanks for the recs - I'll start checking these out. Plague of the Zombies looks right up my alley.
The guy on TCM introduced Horror Express as Hammerbut maybe I misheard him and he just said something like it's in the vein of Hammer and used a couple of their standard actors or something.

      It's a
      Hamster Horror
film brah. The guy who was introducing it probably had an outrageous English accent, hence the mixup.
As a Canadian, I've often marveled at the fact that people from England can't even speak their own god damned language properly.

The host of TCM is American.

Interesting. I wonder why an American host is speaking with an English accent?

Everyone who speaks English has an accent. Even those silly Canadians.

Thanks to all for the recs and I'll try to keep my Hammer separate from my non-Hammer in the future

I think they were showing Lee films that were not Hammer last night. I am watching Horror Hotel which I DVRd and was on after Horror Express I think and he mentioned that at the beginning.

The Curse of the Werewolf is the one that I was most impressed by.
The Abdominal Snowman of the Himalayas
Dracula Has Risen From the Grave (Rated G!)
I'm currently watching The Vampire Lovers for the first time.

There's a good body of films that were inspired by Hammer, or somehow associated, and stylistically are so similar that people get confused.
Another one is Blood of the Vampire, UK produced at about the same time as Horror of Dracula.
The Eyes of the City are Mine!
                    Mother Pressman / Anguish (1987)

Horror Express is one of my favorite horror films, good stuff. Father Pujardov is funny.
Here are some of my favorite Hammer films:
                      Horror of Dracula
                      The Devil Rides Out
                      Plague of the Zombies
                      Vampire Circus
                      Quatermass and the Pit
                      The Gorgon
                      The Abominable Snowman
                      The Quatermass Xperiment

Horror Express is a trip, nice to see Cushing and Lee on the same side for once and a bizarre third act appearance from Telly Savalas.

Not sure why I've never looked into these films, although I'm not a huge vampire/Franky/werewolf fan, so
But there are plenty of alternatives available.
