DS all the way, because the bipedal ww is more scary to me as they retain some semblance of humanity.I like quadrupedal , too,if done well,as in AAWIL. The WW is my absolute favorite monster.

I don't exactly hate Dog Soldiers but I do think Ginger Snaps is a better film on several levels IMO. Personally, I think that one of the main reasons why Dog Soldiers is a pretty decent but not great film is because of the way the movie is edited/sped-up at times. Now, there are some good sequences with the british soldiers killing some of the werewolves inside/outside the housebut the shutter-speed frame effect and quick editing is used and you can hardly tell what is happening throughout which makes some scenes missed opportunities IMO. For me, it became annoying at times and the wolves should've been doing more attacking during these sequences too but it is a gory movie and the effects looked good. Also I felt they didn't use some more creative ways to kill the werewolves when they finally do get inside the farmhouse, aside from the one soldier stabbing and throwing things at a wolf and the sergeant using a flame-thrower through the small bathroom door. I mean, one soldier even finds a sword yet never uses it which was disappointing. Anyway, I still think it's at least a 7.5/10 but it could've been better.
Now, on the other hand I think Ginger Snaps is a very clever and well-acted/written film that does something unique with the werewolf sub-genre in terms of it's connection to puberty with lycanthropy IMO. For me, the performances by Katharine Isabelle and Emily Perkins were excellent and the intelligent/witty screenplay was very interesting and ingeniouseven the effects were pretty good and the final werewolf design was both original yet still unsettling in it's execution during the final confrontation. Plus, I enjoy the fact that the gore was only shown when it needed to be seen since this is a character-driven film and you really feel for the two sisters' situation IMO. Personally, it's the more emotional story and it's uniqueness is why I give it a higher rating of 8.5/10. Hell, the sequel/prequel are really good too in my view. -

There's a chasm between your comments and ratings for both films.
They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into. I say, let 'em crash. -

Oooooooh! I think 14 year old angry teen Kelly would say Ginger Snaps. It is one of my favourite films, but Dog Soldiers still holds up now. It's so funny as well as crazy violent.
