Okay, I retract everything I said before. I was thinking about the one I posted about the soldier who came back with a robotic arm and leg. That's the one to which I thought you were referring.
The Trial
is about a combat trained vet who got severely injured and was immobile, paralyzed. However, he's been trained in things like situational awareness and various combat skills. The project or trial was about transferring the tactical training from a disabled guy and transfer it into the able-body of another man.
There's jumps because he keeps blacking out when he's not in control. The "collateral" is being done without his conscious awareness. With each kill, the able-bodied guy gets more in control, and the awareness of the combat vet slowly dissolves.
The end is an interview where the man is busted for the kills, he's eating his last meal, the priest is giving him his last rites, and he's saying he'd do it all over again.
That's the way I interpreted it anyway. When he first looks into the mirror, there's no sign of recognition so you can tell it's not like they rejuvenated him somehow, but that of an entirely different person. There's a struggle for dominance in the beginning. He'd rather die as an able-bodied killer, than a paralyzed victim.

That is an excellent analysis, and I think you're correct. Thanks. BTW, I'm putting you on retainer as my go to source for interpretations of Dust. So stay frosty.

FTL:
Interesting but impossible, since Einstein proved nothing can ever exceed the speed of light. And the ending was kind of weak, sort of a variation on the ending of 2001.
PS I guess they can't all be gems.

Oh believe me, there are several I didn't bother posting because they made absolutely no sense, were poorly acted or directed. I picked the ones that seemed at least somewhat interesting, – some better than others. The good ones make up for the very few bad ones. They put out a LOT of content daily and I've been sifting through their whole history.

They can't all be gems, and the really good ones make it worthwhile sifting
through the chaff. A great web site!

I don't know her from Adam as the only pictures of her I've seen are the wedding and whatever pops up in my news feed. I'd never heard of her before.
I still can't get over what a terrific performance this was!
