Billie Eilish = 7 Grammys in 2 years

So ****ing what.
In just 2 years or less EVERYONE will be asking, "Billie who? Idol?" while those same ones will still be talking about The Beatles and still hearing them on the radio and not Eilish who is yet another flash in the pan one or two hit wonder.
Like classical music The Beatles are timeless while everyone today will be forgotten.

The Beatles were relevant for 10 years 60-70 before they broke up.
Every album they put out had a few hits and were big sellers.
Just seems like there are no longer music acts today that have that kind of staying power.
Sure, there was Britney Spears, Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga for a bit as household names but we no longer hear of them making music.
They could still be making albums but they are not as well known any more.
I dunno if it's the music industry, the public getting fickle or a bit of both.
Time will tell who is right or wrong with Billie's staying power but I won't be surprised if she fades from the limelight as the above acts have.

Depends what you're listening to. My favourite prog rock band (and I don't mean old prog rock) hss been going for many years and release 2 albums per year so they have more albums than the Beatles and if you ask anybody in the genfe they rate. Hardest working band in rock music. And they are Norwegian.
But you won't hear about them in pop circles.
So it depends on the genre. I could say the same about some metal and hip hop acts. -

I look for CDs to buy of acts I like that are no longer putting out the hits.
I plan to search for a couple of more recent Bob Seger ones next time I hit the used CD store.
Are you in Oslo by chance?

I'm a vinyl person. CDs are lower tier but I'll take it if vinyl editions don't exist. But tbh it might as well be Spotify or Bandcamp if it's digital.
Vinyl is my thing.
No, Sweden. But a few of my favourites are from Norway. -

Yeah, I like vinyl too and have a bunch of records.
Just that CDs are more portable for my music needs.
The darn turntable kept falling off the handlebars of the bike when I tried that!
I was a visitor to both Norway and Sweden in the mid 90's.
Have some nice memories of being there.

Seriously? Who uses CDs portably anymore? They're space holders at best once you fly them into your ipod or whatever. Using CDs daily is sort of middle old school. Vinyl is old old school, tape cassette is a bit lol but shiiiit, some demo stuff is only available on that medium.
But CD feels so…one time these days. For me if it's the only way of having physical copy, it's almost ornamental because I put it in my ipod or just save it on Spotify.
At home it's often vinyls I play. And for the rest, Spotify/ipod and Bandcamp. -

I don't have an "ipod or whatever."
We all have our systems and what works for us.
I just don't care to go through the expense and trouble of putting my CDs onto something else when I can play them on what I already have.

Billie Eilish = 2 albums of the year and just getting started. The Beatles = 1 album of the year and are long dead. 2 > 1. Duh.
No one will remember the Beatles in 50 years. Everyone will remember Billie Eilish. -

You are just being a ridiculous troll who is obviously a huge and biased Eilish fan.
You are acting like a teenager.
Are you one?

Bullshit!
She will be forgotten LONG before that, but the Beatles never will be.
BTW, I've never even heard a single song by her.

Have you listened to any of her songs Movie Man?
I never did until a few moments ago where I just checked out a few of her vids on YT.
I swear.
Elevator Muzak does not sound much different.
Every single song she does sounds exactly the same.
If she does not up her game or give us more upbeat tunes instead of this white noise that will put you to sleep then she will be going the way of Pharrell Williams in a very short time.
Gone and forgotten.

No, but I just choose one at random,
Happier Than Ever,
and watched the video on You Tube. I could only take about
45 seconds
, and stopped before I nodded off. She's definitely elevator Muzak. I guess the teeny boppers like her because her songs are sad, or something. I have no clue.
