Just once, at the Melbourne show on the 22nd of February. The best show I've seen, easily.
Pneuma, Invincible, Parabola, Eon Blue Apocalypse/The Patient, Part of Me and Ænema were the highlights of the night. All of the songs were great though. Descending was a bit underwhelming because I hyped it up in my mind before the show. As a bassist I wish Justin Chancellor was louder in the mix for songs like Descending and 46&2. But he came out louder than ever for Invincible.
The gong hit in Descending was good, though. Washed over the whole arena.
Bands that came close to putting on a performance of this level: Amenra, Sigur Rós, Primus.

For sure!! As many times as i had seen TOOL the mix has had ups and downs sometimes muddled but mostly just hands down one of the cleanest sounding bands i have ever heard. I too am a bass player (mainly) and the tone and style of set up is smooth as a babies ass.
The whole band has progressed with writing and sound so much over the years that is has become close to unfathomable to my ear holes.
I was worried that like u, with hyping urself up for Descending and being underwhelmed, i would have done the same with the album we all have waited so long for. I WASNT AT ALL!! It hit me like a volcanic eruption of color and vibrations that i thought i had slipped into another realm. The visuals on this tour were unmatched and have been getting better and better..it was my girlfeiends first time scince lala polooza and she said it was the best show she had seen in the last hope TOOL does another album and we dont have to wait as long but if they dont..i feel they went out with a bang. Cheers mate

Great album, I like it more than 10000 Days. Can't beat the others, though.
I reckon they've got one last one in them.
