If you're not into constant Christmas music unconditionally, does that make you a Christmas hater?
I ask this question because I am not particularly fond of constantly having Christmas music played constantly. As we get my home ready for the holidays, my family feels the need to put on the holiday station from Music Choice, which is playing Christmas songs constantly, while doing it, sort of as a reminder. I willingly try to help out, but I'm not particularly fond of having to listen to it constantly. I sometimes feel that if I'm not listening to it, I have no holiday spirit, like the holiday spirit needs to be unconditional, all or nothing.
That is not true. I do like Christmas songs, but I don't feel the need to be bombarded with it, especially those loud pop versions, to be in the holiday mood. I wish we could hear more gentle versions, like those played by Vince Guaraldi of "Peanuts" fame; that is, music that is still Christmas, but not so unsubtle about it.
Anyway, do you feel it necessary to have Christmas music played constantly in order to be "in the mood"?

No, I do not. Time & weather channels are bad for the constant Christmas songs / carols, for one example, but I simply avoid that kind of thing as much as possible.
I always give my Vince Guaraldi "A Charlie Brown Christmas" CD a couple of spins this time of year, though. Ditto the Bob & Doug McKenzie version of "12 Days of Christmas".
What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

But it would seem that some people think that you're not a complete Christmas fan unless you accept all Christmas music unconditionally.
Personally, I wish we had more "elevator"-type music, to show the music as background music, because when there is pop-type Christmas played, that can actually be seen not as background music.

Assuming I liked Christmas music - I don't - I would still feel oversaturated with it due to the stores and would want it only for the few days around Christmas at home.
