MC wasn't very active when I joined here and IMDB2. I wanted to discuss obscure movies like I was able to do on IMDB, but was turned off by this site's design so I posted only 1x here and 6x on IMDB2 and stuck with MC.
MC became more active, but I've been unhappy for months and searched for another site to join. Too many users and posts bans/deletes, hate speech, trolling, pop-up ads, idiocracy, and the final straw was mod7.
I gave this site another try last week and decided to stick around.
Huh, I remember it being quite active in the early days. I think most of my account's posts are from back then.
From the sound of it you want more moderation, not less - or at least more moderation in the particular direction you prefer. So I'm not sure why you'd come to a place like this, which is even less moderated than MC. -

Left wing voters in America always turn a State to **** with their policies, then run away to a Red State where they then repeat the procedure, never realising that their ****ty ideology is what burned down the last place. Same principle here. -

That analogy is so hilariously spot-on.

You like mainstream films which have more activity. MC's forums for small independent and foreign films had no to little activity in the early years. It's better now although not as good as IMDB's activity. I hanged out in Politics and General because the rest of the site was too dead.
Preferring posters who can intelligently express themselves beyond "Libtard" and "naughty words" doesn't equate to desiring censorship. -

Ah yes, the rare film connoisseur Keelai. Who says it's better now at MC on that front, yet spent almost their entire time there spam-posting political slop and malding about Trump up until 8 days ago.
I think Melton nailed it in his assessment of your move here. -

Correction: Melton1 who was banned from a movie discussion forum for being a troll.
You've been repeatedly obsessing over my MC political posts. You clearly miss them! -

Let's just not pretend you're something you're not, Keelai⦠a bit of a foreign concept to someone of your sociopolitical leanings, I know.
With that said, if you want to turn over a new leaf and surely ignite all sorts of trailblazing discussions of obscure films here⦠by all means. -

Discussion requires more than one.
If you want to discuss my recent films views "The Taste of Things", "Old Man with a Gun" or "Out of Africa" let me know. I found crickets. No posts for Africa in 7 years.
Even better discussion is a book I'm reading called "My Big T.O.E." by Campbell. I tried to get an MC discussion going but no one read it. Campbell presents an interesting Theory of Everything. -

Okay okay, I'll act like you're a rare movie connoisseur if it makes you feel better.
And I'm no physicist, but I'd be highly skeptical of any "theory of everything" without proper peer review. The Campbell book looks like woo-ey pseudoscience, which I personally have no interest in.
*On another note, this thread isn't showing up in any of the mains. Hidden perhaps because it mentions the dreaded "Moviechat". -

Interesting. Yeah I canβt see it listed anywhere. Your theory sounds plausible
