Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The Last Flight

Ok, I've given up on TCM ever re-broadcasting this film. I've requested it countless times over the past four years - the last time in memory they broadcast it - and I didn't even have a DVD recorder then. All I've got is a fuzzy VHS and I'm tired of it.
If you have a nice crisp digital print of The Last Flight (not fuzzy VHS) recorded originally on SP mode from TCM onto disc, or other station broadcast, and would like to share or trade PLEASE email me through IMDb. Thank you!

Yeah, me too. I want a good digital readout. Sick of blurry VHS.
Come on TCM, play this film again! How long do we have to wait. Every other week you play The Birdman of Alcatraz while we wait four years for you to broadcast The Last Flight again.
      Grrr..

TCM will be showing this classic film on July 10th, 2007. Have your recorders ready - I sure will!

Yes after many years TCM finally rebroadcast it. There are SO MANY precodes like this waiting to be rediscovered yet they keep putting slop from the 50s, 60s, 70s on and ignore the silents and gem precodes, or if they put them on generally they are on in the graveyard shift. We're lucky they put The Last Flight on during daytime hours, though I'm sure a lot of people missed it because they were at work or school.
The Last Flight should have been scheduled for 8 or 10 pm, to get the most viewers, and had a nice build-up by Robert Osborne. The film is universal in some of its themes about soldiers returning from war shellshocked and the like. Some things never change, so just because this film deals with ancient World War One doesn't mean it's not topical for our own time and our more modern wars.

It is now available in Universal's DVD-R Archive Series.
