After he escapes the hospital bedroom the first night he changes into a wolf again the next morning they find him asleep in his bed. Now if he was a werewolf at the time how would he know to come back to his room. And futhermore why would he want to since he just escapes again later??

What always gets me is how we're not supposed to think about how he starts out in a hospital gown, turns into the wolf man, is next seen in his "wolf man pants and shirt," then the next morning is lying in his hospital gown again. The wolf man is better at changing his clothes than Superman!

I've always wondered that too. Even in the original Wolf Man, the very first time he changes, Talbot only has on a white undershirt, but when we first see the Wolf Man, he's wearing the standard issue long sleeve brown shirt that he always has on.

Along with the undershirt he is of course in the trousers of the suit he's been wearing, but they don't match the darker ones seen on the Wolf Man. At least in that film, he is still in the wolf-clothes after he reverts to Larry the next morning. Watch closely and you'll see that he even notices the different garments.
