Probably the opening. When Freddy Jolly( Cyril Delevanti) and his friend( Tom Stevenson) break into the Talbot crypt and bring the Wolfman back to life. Very atmospheric and a great beginning to the story.

then they hear the werewolf howl
Listen closely: that's TWO werewolves howling. (I always wondered who the other one was; probably just an overzealous sound effects editor.)
I agree with the posts above. Another chilling moment: when Larry tells the Gypsy Woman: "Now I must go on living. There's no hope for me to die." Goosebumps. -

The part when the monster comes into the village during the festival of the wine,i especially love the bit when he and Talbot escape on the horse and cart and the monster is pushing the wine barrels off the back at the villagers.

-The opening scene when the two would-be grave robbers wake up the Wolfman. About as atmospheric as a Universal horror will get without James Whale or Tod Browning directing.
-When the Wolfman kills the cop.
-When the detective and Dr. Manning discover Talbot escaped by tearing his straight jacket apart with his teeth and they begin to believe.
-When Larry makes eye contact with the daughter of the tavern owner when he reaches the town. The look of doom she gives him and his sad look back at her is actually quite sad and creepy, especially when you find out later that he killed her (there might be some Freudian Lolita thing going on there if you think about it!)
-The Wolfman chase where he falls into a hole (I noticed this was referenced in the remake).
-The part where Lawrence makes the guy singing about eternal life stop and almost loses his mind.
-The monster smackdown at the end.
For a B-movie, this had an awful lot of great parts. -

First off, this is probably my favorite of the Universal Monster movies after the original "Wolf Man". There are so many great scenes and moments in it. A few of the standouts for me:
- The opening scene in the graveyard; extremely atmospheric and creepy.
- Talbot's first transformation into the Wolf Man in the hospital; probably the best transformation in the entire Universal canon.
- Talbot's discovery of the Frankenstein Monster in the ice cave.
- The whole climax in the laboratory & the battle between the Monster and the Wolf Man.
