He probably already has a secret mad scientist laboratory set up in the basement so he'll be ready for his next experiment in mind control.
I pity the poor real estate agent who is sent to the island to try to unload this house, with its terrible history, only to unsuspectingly wander into the kitty's web of intrigue and become the next pawn in a vicious game of reprisals against bad pet owners.
I think we have the beginnings of an excellent sequel.
last 2 dvds:
Dr. Cyclops
(1940) &
El espinazo del diablo

I like your post.
I actually thought the cat was going to factor in one of two ways: either someone would realize that the cat belonged to Mr. Owen and that the cat was friendliest with whoever was Owen; or - I thought there was another person hiding in secret passages and that someone would notice the cat being able to get places where all the entrances were closed, thus leading to the discovery of the secret passages. Alas, neither of those things occurred.

I also wondered who was going to feed the cat now that most people were dead and the last two people were leaving the island. I guess the cat belongs to the owner of the island who as coming back supposedly within a few days.

My husband and I got a big laugh out of this thread. All through the movie he kept saying "I think it's the cat" in addition to your observations above, he said "And remember, the cat was in the woodpile" Funny stuff
Great movie, great story!
