I completely missed the joke (there is one there, isn't there?) when Groucho and Harpo get off the elevator - after the elevator quickly went from being stuck and drops to the basement.

You see the hand on the elevator display go down to 1 as the elevator falls, then it swings back and forth quickly between a couple of floors, suggesting that the elevator car is bouncing up and down after it lands. The guys come out of the elevator and their bodies are still "bouncing" up and down from the jarring effect of being thrown around in the car.
"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"

I interpreted it as them being all shook up from the fall.
