And yes they absolutely would have because it would have given them the power to keep their involvement buried AND stop Trump. Either one of which is more than enough incentive on its own but together makes my case even stronger.

I agree that the shooting of Peretti was bad. But any responsible gun owner knows that obstruction while armed is a bad idea.
The fact is if the government officials didn’t encourage obstruction and they had the police assisting the feds, both of those people would be alive today.

Not ideal situations, are they? The feds shouldn't have been dealing with either situation, the police should.
Of course, if Minnesota allowed feds to deport illegal criminals from the prisons (like they did for Obama) instead of releasing them back into the street, none of this would have happened.
