With the exception of Mme. Moureau, all of the leading characters in this film died fairly young of cancer.
So much for Gitanes and latte at the cafe.

I saw her in an interview filmed in 2006, and she's still smoking.

Well, the oldest woman in the world used to smoke until age 117, five years before her death, and her name was also Jeanne. Talk about coincidence.
Way to go Jeanne!
