Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Onionhead

Thanks to Onionhead he decided his future was in television! If anyone was ever psyched-up for Big Screen success it was Andy. Only a monumental stinker such as this could put him on the right path. It is a good life lesson - sometimes the 'worst possible thing' turns out far better than our 'answered prayers' would have it. By the way, the book is wonderful, semi-autobiographical and very well written.

No, I would say that ' A Face in the Crowd ' was the film that made his career.

Brightest spot of his movie career. His main career was on television.

Andy Griffith is not very likeable in this movie. I was expecting him to be like his TV persona and I think TV was the right move for him.
