Well, offhand, given your budgetary considerations and the like 3 options come to mind right away:
"5 Characters In Search Of An Exit"
      "The Fear"
      "Two"
There are at least a few more most likely, but I'd think these best because the set and/or set dressing could be minimal. It's the
      story
      that counts most anyway.

          Your quite welcome.
None of those are actually hard-core science fiction. What you might do actually is watch all 3, see which is a better fit owing to your limitations. With a few adjustments here and there they're all decent candidates for adaptation I would think - especially on a paper-clip, shoestring and rubber band budget.

If you choose The Fear though the only hitch might be the spacecraft. The good part in that is if youre able to come up with a budget-friendly stand-in the rest should be mostly camera angles and whatnot. (Think of the
            Jaws
problem: The mechanical beast didnt work much of the time, so Spielberg had to find other means of achieving the same effect. Your trouble is more budgetary than mechanical though, so with enough creativity under your hat well, you just never know.)

              Stopover in a Quiet Town.
I think that's the one. Where humans were abducted by giant aliens and then find themselves as part of a giant alien girl's play set.
We would see their abduction, then running around in the town. Figuring out how to fight back and maybe escape and find a way back to earth.
Here's the twist though: They do end up on an alien ship and much to their surprise and delight, the aliens are about the same size as them. Only it's the ones with the cookbook, "To Serve Man."
To be continued in the sequel?
              Damn I'm good.

'The Jeopardy Room' - three people, minimal sets, no sci-fi elements.

"Nick of Time" nothing supernatural, minimal sets.
"Where Is Everybody?" shouldn't be hard. But there's really only one character; I don't know if that's a plus or a minus.
