I cant believe Robin Williams or Robert DeNiro performances in "Awakenings" isnt mentioned by anyone. Jason Robards in once upon a time in the west is great. Or how about Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York? Anthony hopkins as Hannibal Lecter is pretty good, I didnt see anyone mention him. I really like Henry Fonda in 12 angry men as well. George C. Scott in Dr. Strangelove is really good. Donald Sutherland in 1900 is amazing, as Attila the Fascist. The character of Indio in few dollars more, his name is Gian Maria Volonte, is very good. Very intense and also diverse. I really like his performance.
Just from the top of mye head, here is my top ten, tried to avoid the ones already mentioned. First place actually a tie.- Robert DeNiro - Awakenings.
- Donald Sutherland - 1900.
- Daniel Day Lewis - Gangs of New York.
- George C. Scott - Dr. Strangelove.
- Jason Robards - Once upon a time in the west.
- Robin Williams - Awakenings.
- Gian Maria Volonte - Few dollars more.
- Anthony Hopkins - Silence of the lambs
- Paul Newman - The Hustler.
- Steve McQueen - Every movie he has ever made. Coolest man ever. He is especally good in Nevada Smith and Papillion. But The great escape is probably my favorite.
I have probably forgotten some really important ones, but I agree mostly in what is already written.
