An accident at a nuclear facility creates a dimensional doorway in which aliens need to widen to invade our world. A scientist tries to discover a way to reverse the damage and close the door.
This is not a good episode. One critic called it
"one of the six stinkers."
It has a nonsensical plot, impenetrable scientific garblede**** expositions, and hammy acting. Another critic asked
"Did you see all the teeth marks in the scenery?"
Most of this was supplied by George MacReady. He gives his speeches in a hushed, ominous tone with loopy mugging. He sometimes seems to be staring into space. Was he doing so with tongue in cheek?
He was much better in the earlier episode
The Invisibles.
His wife is not much better as she bleats out
"Marshall! Marshall!"
She reminded me of Steve Busemi in this
Snickers
commercial.
