Some of the songs seemed to go VERY fast this year. I guess it was done to fit in more commercials, rather than cutting out parts.
Did anyone else feel it was rushed this year?
That's what we need - ridiculous odds, and just a speck of hope that someday, we'll beat it

I noticed missing verses in "We're a Couple of Misfits" and the elf song.

Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

I wouldn't know because I refuse to watch this, or any Christmas special, on broadcast TV because of cut scenes, time compression and other tinkering with the format. If a network can't air a special as it was intended to be seen, then don't bother.
I will stick with my DVD collection.

There is so much cut out from the original airing in 1964 that it isn't worth watching on CBS. You can watch the complete program on Youtube.

I HATE how shows are edited for time/commercials! Luckily, I am converting my old 80s VHS tapes to DVD. The saddest moment of a Christmas show being edited was when I bought a commercially distributed version of Muppet Family Christmas. It was edited to do rights for several of the Christmas songs.

The comments here are convincing me to purchase the latest Blu-ray or DVD version. At this point, however, I'll have to wait until Christmas of 2017!
