I used to watch this when I was kid back in the late 60's. It was never a happy event for me as it always seemed to make me sad. Years later when I had my own kids we sat around watching it with the Xmas tree twinkling. Year after year, this movie always made me sad. Especially at the end when Santa, flying in the sky, says "Merry Christmas!" That was the moment when the waterworks started for me. Every single damn year.
The kids and the wife were a combination of giggling and strange expressions, like, WTF's wrong with him?
Does crying through this show mean I'm insane? Or just borderline wacko? Or maybe just sentimental? Do you or someone you know cry during this show? -

Same here I don't know why, but certain parts of it always get to me.
Like when Clarice sings "There's Always Tomorrow", when Rudolph heads out on the block of ice alone, when the Abominable Snowman knocks Rudolph down and Clarice says "why doesn't he just get it over it?" etc.
I finally just finished watching my tape of it (only saw bits and pieces when it was on back in December)
and I'm feeling like getting teary-eyed again thinking that in no time at all it will be Christmas 2017 and it will be back on 'live' again (time goes by so fast when you get older, it seems).
