If TOS had run for a full five seasons

Would the rest of the Star Trek universe had unfolded the way it did? Would we still have got TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise? Would we still have got the movies?

Wouldn't that depend on the quality of those seasons? Maybe people would have had a gut full of it and not want to watch any more of the same stuff. Or maybe it would have just enhanced their enthusiasm. Who knows. What do you think?

I think it would have fueled the interest faster…they were doing conventions shortly after the series went off the air so it's fair to think with 5 seasons in the can and syndication runs the fan base would have been much larger. I bet the movies would have happened starting in the early mid-70's.

going to syndication is what made it popular, because more people were able to watch it
delaying syndication would only delay it's rise in popularity
