I wonder, if Star Trek would've been a WWII era show:
Kirk and Bones are walking among the remnants of the liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.
"So, Jim, it seems the Nazis systematically murdered 11 million people, including 1.5 million children."
"I wish Hitler would've remained a painter. In that case, he would've only murdered art critics and people with a good taste."
Everyone bursts out laughing.

GUARDIAN: "Many such journeys are possible. Let me be your gateway."
KIRK: "What are you, a time portal or a car rental company?"
Goofy clarinet sting and fade out.

KIRK: "I wonder what would it be like to be trapped with a raving madman at your throat, for all eternity, until time itself came to an end. What would it be like?"
SPOCK: "We could always inquire of Doctor McCoy's ex-wife."
Bridge crew cracks up as McCoy glares at Spock. Fade to credits.

It's intriguing for me as well. If I'd end up stuck in a female body, I'd touch myself whole day long. But I wouldn't stay there for more than 28 days if you know what I mean.

I enjoyed it. There were much worse episodes, certainly.

Oh, absoltely, nfx. There were
far
worse eps, I concur. Maybe one reason I'm not a huge fan of it is that for about 3 years or so back in my younger days, any time I managed to catch a rerun, it was
always
TI.

The bigger concern I had is in By Any Other Name, where Rojan kills the yeoman, yet everyone is all smiles at the end. No biggee, I guess.
That bugged me as well, bj. I've always felt that Kirk should have at least confiscated their belt devices and maybe decked Rojan one more time or treated him to a broken bone or two. Another epilogue that bugs me is for "Doomsday Machine" As much as I love the ep, they were way to cheerful after the loss of 430 Starfleet personnel and
Enterprise
's sister ship. I think the traditional maritime ceremony like the one for USS
Lantree
at the end of ST:TNG's "Unnatural Selection" should have been observed.
