it took him three hours to figure out that F.U stood for Felix Unger.. What a freaking classic
That was a great scene and had me on the floor too! I also like the scene where Felix goes to light one of the Pigeon sisters' cigarette and gets the cig caught in the lighter when he pulls it back and places it back on the table. Gwendolyn sort of just sits there and Felix, realizing his faux pas, picks up the lighter with the cigarette and hands it back to her like nothing happened.
I missed that scene the first time around, but I caught it the next time, LOL.

The scene where the girls come to them is hilarious. Jack Lemmon was great in that scene. "Heheh, Oscar where are the drinks? Huh?"
There's nothing but testosterone, sweat, and desperation at the ten yard line

My favorite scene is towards the beginning, when Felix first enters the apartment and they think he's going to kill himself, but try to act like nothing's going on.

I think I probably laughed the hardest when Oscar says, "Put down that spoon", and then Felix shouts, "THAT IS A LADLE! YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT THAT'S A LADLE!" It's so hilarious the way he says it, and the fact that he's already pissed off about the whole dinner situation and then he decides to get pissed off about that too. But yes, the F.U. bit I also laughed hysterically at. There are so many other hilarious moments as well, like when Felix calls Oscar at work to tell him not to eat franks for lunch and he makes him miss a triple play, or the scene with the Pigeon Sisters where Oscar is laughing it up and having a good time with them until Felix makes the completely awkward and random comment, "They say it may rain Friday", or when Felix tries to trip Oscar with the vacuum cord, but Oscar puts his foot up and makes Felix crash into everything in the kitchen, and of course Felix's famous "FFFMA, FFFMA" ear-clearing scene at the restaurant.
This film is a classic, and it's definitely one of my favorites. Neil Simon was a comedic genius, although I must say the movie's even better than his original play because every scene isn't confined in the apartment. That was Neil's biggest complaint with the play, and they managed to fix it with the movie.

                      So many classic lines!
O: "I got brown sandwiches and green sandwiches"
                      What's the green?
O: "It's either very new cheese or very old meat!" LOL!!!!!
                      The famous Meatloaf fight!
F: What am I gonna do?
O: Keep pouring gravy on it!
F: What gravy? Where am I gonna get gravy at 8 O'Clock at night!
O: I don't know, I thought it comes when you cook the meat!!!!
F: "You don't know what you're talking about Oscar. You just don't know because you've gotta make gravy it doesn't COME!!!!!
But my favorite is still the "We're all out of Cornflakes, FU! Took me 2 hours to figure out that FU was Felix Ungar!"
                      Joe

Yes, the two of them are great together and never better than in this. Must be my favorite comedy I never get tired of watching it That is I did get tired of it when I had it taped from tv and watched it a half dozen times in as many months. But then a break from it for a few years and see it again, it's like brand new. Comedy genius all right.

I found it largely unfunny TBH.
