The character is played by a guy named Paul Ferrara and I know he is a cinematographer.
But I cant remember his character in the film

I was also wondering the same thing. I believe that Ferrara also was a photographer and shoot the pictures of The Doors album "Waiting for the Sun" that same year.

I believe it's the guy with the camera who sits next to Carol Wayne at the bar. He also photographs the girl dancing, around 25 minutes into the movie.
