So ummm. Imdb is shutting down its msg boards. Very interesting and snow-flakey development. Are movie makers complaining about real people giving their honest opinions? Are we too harsh for the snowflakes? (I've not been so disappointed since Trader Joes discontinued its popular Karet Cake.) I actually rely on other people's opinions and do value them. Sure there are trolls but that's the way it will always be online and intelligent people know to ignore them. Has imdb has caved in to some powerful force? Who owns imdb anyway. Time to move along and go elsewhere.

I'm not sure but I think imdb just didn't want the bother of moderating the message boards anymore. That's strictly a guess. Some counter that theory with the fact that supposedly the message boards here are moderated automatically.

Shame. I enjoy commenting on films or TV shows I like, and sometimes find other people's comments insightful or informative. I encountered the occasional a-hole but they can always be put on ignore.
Oh well. I suppose there is still Youtube comments.
