Not sure if it's still on, but they want or wanted Tom Cruise and John Travolta for a remake of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I wonder who they wanted to play who. I always wanted to see the two of them make a movie together, but not to sure about this one.

Yikes, what a hideously bad idea. I am not a fan of Cruise AT ALL. I like Travolta in certain roles (A Civil Action and Primary Colors), but he certainly would be badly miscast in Butch Cassidy.

Then the movie would turn into "Brokeback Mountain."

I don't see either of those actors as being successful in a western.
          Cruise perhaps, but not Travolta
          And certainly not this movie.

It's such a hideous idea, it could happen. Hollywood recycles the same 8 or so favored actors for BIG movies. Cruise could probably pull it off; his acting chops are proven and considerable. Travolta? Can't see him convincingly in a western at all. At all.

Yikes! What a terrible pairing for a remake, which is also a bad idea. I like both of the actors, just not for a remake of this. Perhaps it was going to be funded by Scientology so they wanted their two most famous members in a movie together?
