    What was she on? The one whose child needed to be taken into protective custody. What sort of paranoia was she suffering from later on in the film when she is dashing from doorway to doorway?

      It's hard to say for sure, but when I saw the movie, I'd assumed acid. She's tripping balls, that's for sure.

        That diner scene was just a touch of '60s surrealism. Was she the same woman seen later? I didn't connect the two. Anyway no, you have to take your glasses of conformity off to get this film.

          The diner lady had thick hair vs the tripping out gal later on. I don't think they're the same person.
