    Let's face it, the role of Joe Buck may look easy to play, but he's so simple and naive than most actors would play him "cornier"
    Voight has that puppy-dog innocence inside of him which the performance so heart-felt, genuine and memorable
    Even larks and katydids are, supposed by some, to dream

        I was remarking to a friend that Jon Voight blows my mind in this. I've seen it a million times and I cannot take my eyes off him. His vulnerability and his expressions are right on at every moment. Just spectacular.

            Voight brought a sweetly naïve vulnerability to the character of Joe Buck that makes the guy a highly moving and engaging protagonist.
            You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
