Teresa had the room before Stephanie. If Archie really wanted a den, then why didn't he just make the attic into one? It seemed to be big enough for one even though it was never shown

The attic must've been tiny with a low ceiling, only room for a cot, otherwise he might've had a den up there whether the Stivics lived there or not.

I always assumed the Bunkers' was one of those tiny things with the slanted ceilings and exposed insulation accessible with a pull-down ladder. OK for someone like Cousin Oscar, but not a regular person.

Well, there had to be some large amount of space. At least enough room for Edith to serve Cousin Oscar his meals or Mike to go check up on him

All they had to do was walk up the ladder and stick their head up, drop a tray or whatever. I'm sure the cot was alongside the entry way.

I suppose there's always the cellar, if they can get that lock fixed properly. Archie seemed to enjoy himself down there with the 100 proof Polish Vodka

The cellar was amazingly small compared to the size of the main floor. In fact, if you line up the bulkhead with the main floor, it should open up under the dining room table.
