Was it true that Lucille Ball hated All in the family and even wanted it taken off the air?

Here's Lucy was still going strong when AITF premiered and Ball was outraged that such a "vulgar" show had turned up on "her" network. I don't know if she actively petitioned for the show to be taken off, but during the summer reruns of season one the show began to become a hit, so there wouldn't have been anything she could've done about it by then anyway.

Can't think of any, at least while the show was still going. It mostly happens during retrospectives years after the show had stopped filming.

He was like host of The John McLaughlin Group a political show not unlike Bill O'Reilly in the 70's and 80's.

I'm about as apolitical as you can get. This election year was different, as I was horrified at the thought of Hilary in the White House unless she was wearing a maid's uniform.

None of it rings a bell. I don't watch news shows (unless it's on ESPN or the like), and I don't hang out in bookstores.
