What happened after the tree-climbing scene?

There's that scene where they're horsing around by climbing the tree. Then, later that night, the girl discovers that she'd scrapped her inner-thigh on the branches. The Aboriginal boy is watching and the girl says she's OK, but then she exclaims "oh dear!" and gets up.
The scene cuts were a little confusing here. But, from what I'd gathered, the girl realized that she was bearing too much of her legs and the boy got aroused. Am I right here? I didn't quite understand that scene.

She realized both she and the boy were having sexual thoughts, so she distanced herself from him.
