How many Lbs of force would it take to twist a padlock until it breaks open like the Creature does in that early scene, just before it gets its First Victim, that Train station attendant.I'm thinking a 500-600 Lb Silverback Gorilla could probably have the actual strength to do that sort of thing, but might not have the intelligence to use its immense strength for that sort of thing, maybe it could though, what do i know,i'm no scientist just pretty good at BroScience. ; )
My generalized estimation would be likely several thousand Lbs of force, upwards of 5000 Lbs of force equalling the strength of 10 relatively strong adult men ?
Depends on the exact type of padlock obviously but i'd guesstimate roughly the strength of 10-20 relatively strong adult men brute strength wise.

he didn't break the lock, the creature absorbed the memory and knowledge of the thief at the train station, who according to the policeman could pick any lock. The creature used a pin of some form to pick the lock , release himself and bung the Mail room guard in the box.

davidmrenton, I haven't seen this movie yet; however, when you wrote "bung the Mail room guard in the box" So what's this Alien doing to people?
I thought I heard this was a loose interpretation of the novella "Who Goes There." But it sounds like this Alien has a hunger for dishin' out dong to dudes - not my thing bro.
IMDB - Because some Trolls need more than just a bridge

Scochs-1, lol I don't know where davidmrenton is from, maybe "bung" means "throw" there? There is no weird alien hankypanky and this movie is pretty good.

Maybe an extremely loose adaptation of Who Goes There, about as close as the Day the Earth Stood was to Farewell to the Master.
Take bung to mean 'kill and place'.

Well spotted - its amazing how little attention people pay to movies these days.
Mind you with the quality of BS movies now its no surprise but this movie is a giant in horror circles.
              Its uncle Frank Kirsty!
              Its time to play!
Soon, we will all have special names!
