I love some mothers do have them. It is certainly in my top 5. Although I love the show it was just the first 2 series that I loved and the specials. When he returned to the role in the 3rd series Frank Spencer was more arrogent, he had lost the innocence and the childlike attitude, and he came across more posh and stuck up.
Just my opinion.

Yeah, number 3 wasnt the same as the other series. Though when he ran into trouble with that neighbour next door was hilarious. I honestly believe the second series was the best of them all, i loved it when after jessica was born he went "Im a success" haha.

I'm a fan!
I used to watch this as a child, way back when, and still love it, though I don't often see it nowadays. Michael Crawford did a fantastic job in portraying the gormless, well-meaning Frank. Poor Betty! IMO, this is a British comedy classic from another age
Laura, it's getting away from us again!

I am a fan and love the scene where he is rollerskating. They make a train at the roller rink, and Frank is at the end. They are spinning round and round really fast and Frank lets go and leaves the roller rink on his skates goes down the spiral outside stairs and down the road.
He then holds onto the tram and gives the conductor change for his fare as he holds onto the back with his skates on, he says
"Take it" for the tram person to take his fare, absolutely hilarious. Has to be seen to be believed -

I've got one of the DVD sets and watch it every now and then. Really Michael Crawford was quite handsome .. if you look beyond the unfashionable 1970s garb and his awkward mannerisms. I really fell apart when I watched the birthing lessons episode when 'Betty' gave birth. I also loved the one where he's on roller skates and ends up in a baby shop. Incredible stuntwork there. I did often wonder whether they used a green screen on the episode where he ends up holding on for dear life to the back bumper while dangling over the edge. Surely they wouldn't have risked 3 lives (his, Michelle's and the little doggie)!

Me! Me!! ME!!!! LOVE Michael Crawford in this, but especially as The Phantom! This show is SOOOO much better than most of the crap that passes for "comedy" today, be it on tv or in the movies!!
