A sequel?

I think a sequel could have or even should have been made. It would entail how the mob used their resources to track down those two cops and got their money back. I'm guessing the bills were all marked or recorded somehow, so eventually, doze two guys woulda' been tracked. Mob would have launched an all-out search and destroy (and recover) mission.

It's been a while since I've seen this movie on "regular" tv.
But if my memory serves me correctly, from the version I remember seeing on tv in the late '70s and '80s, the mob did eventually catch and kill them. It wasn't shown, but was inferred.

I never saw an inference that the mob did catch up with them and i've been watching that movie for some 40 years.
