Dillinger and Floyd allegedly pulled one job together, but it's never been confirmed that the man people said was Dillinger actually was him.
Babyface Nelson did live several weeks longer than Dillinger, and did become Public Enemy Number One. He also managed to escape from the ambush that killed him despite being shot 18 times.
And it's worth noting that despite holding the Number One title it's never beem confirmed that Dillinger ever killed a single person.

I'm so glad you remarked about Dillinger not killing anyone. I'm very sick of
hearing what a vicious killer he was. However, he did ACCIDENTALLY kill a sheriff or deputy. I read that the officer was going to shoot Dillinger and JD shot at his legs. Unfortunately, the officer dropped down at that point and the bullet got him in the chest. JD regretted this all the rest of his life and wrote to his sister about it.
I can't understand why Hoover was so obsessed with catching him. There were plenty of other gangsters out there plus the "mob". -

Because Dillinger generated the most press? He went out of his way to cultivate an image, which wasn't necessarily the case with a Nelson or Floyd or Bonnie and Clyde (who gained most of their notoriety after their deaths). Plus his exploits were arguably more impressive than those of his contemporaries, including two jailbreaks (three if you count his gang breaking out), several robberies and a very colorful gang of cohorts.

Floyd was accused of teaming up with Dillinger's gang for the robbery of the Mason City, Iowa bank. A man vaguely matching Floyd's description was one of Dillinger's accomplices, but it's never been proven that it was him. More likely it was one of Baby Face Nelson's bunch.

It was probably Fatso Negri. He was a member of the Nelson Gang. He seemed to have put Pretty Boy Floyd in the Dillinger Gang to distance himself.
