Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Dillinger

    Wratchett — 20 years ago(October 23, 2005 07:14 AM)

It's a longshot but I was wondering if anybody knows the name of the jazz song playing during the black & white archive collage just after Dillinger is caught by big jim Wollard?
Or if anyone knows what type of jazz it is and any famous bands who made similar music?
    Thanks

The title of the song is "Happy Days Are Here Again," used by Franklin Roosevelt as his campaign song when running for President in 1932. Several jazz virtuosos have recording the song. The best known jazz version was recorded by Ben Selvin, but I'm not sure who is performing the song in "Dillinger." It doesn't sound like the Selvin recording.

The 1973 LP album says that all songs in the movie were orchestrated and conducted by Gus Levene.
