I am wondering whether any Canadians could tell me if this was on CTV or CBC i the 70's. I have been trying for the past 15 years to find out the name of a movie I saw several times as a child and I loved it. All I remember is magical nuts. I am thinking this has to be it. Any help would be appreciated.

I remember watching this as a child in the 70's and it was indeed shown in Canada. I can't say for sure which channel it was on, but I do know I did not have full cable back then, so it would have to be either CTV or CBC as those would be the only channels I could get 🐵

Yes it was. It played on CBC and was always followed by or preceded the movie about the smartie eating christmas alien. (French movie dubbed in english)

          You mean
          The Christmas Martian
(1971)the first in the Tales For All series out of Quebec, which would later include such installments as
The Dog Who Stopped The War
          (1984) and
          The Peanut Butter Solution
          (1985).

I think you have found your movie 🙂 my mum used to watch it as a little girl, she was searching for it just like you. She lived in Manitoba in the 70's and used to watch it on tv..she too loved it and ordered it online!
