Thank you very much! That was all very helpful!

I guess the best I'm going to do is just buy the Czech VHS without English subtitles I know the story.
The VHS WILL play on American VCR's, right? (I know I've asked this a million times, but I just want to make sure I won't get a PAL)
And, just in case you didn't know, I did find this movie available on German DVD (with the film being called "Die kleine Meerjungfrau.") However, the film is dubbed in German with no other language options (including the original Czech) and no subtitle options except for German as far as I know.
Information page for it can be found at:
http://www.beamtech.de/filmeneu/filmdetail.php4?ID=2522
http://www.dvd-commander.de/dvddatabase/getinfo.php?dvdid=8478 (this site has links to buy it at various places as well)
And you can buy it at:
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008VDRD/qid=1092927545/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_10_3/302-5484638-5520064
However, the film seems to be a Region 2 DVD, which will not play on North American DVD players.
Rock on your Cateness!

vidmann - I am looking at the "Mal morsk vla" page on the website you recommended (the link is: http://www.vltava.cz/Store/GoodsDetail.asp?c=&sCGoodsID=SE00699126), and on the page, there is a little button that has a shell on it, and an arrow from the shell to "K." What does this mean? When I hold my mouse over the button, a little box comes up that says: "Kobrazovat ceny v K"
Have you ever ordered anything from this site? I don't know the Czech language whatsoever, but using an online converter, I translated the registration form, and registered onto the site so I could buy the film. Will I be able to convert my order into US dollars at some point during the transaction? Or may I use a credit card, and the sum will be automatically converted? I hope you can help me, and I really, really appreciate the help you've already given me!
Rock on your Cateness!

It means "Show the prices in Czech Crowns". I'm from Czech Republic. We have ordered some books from Vltava and were very satisfied (books you cannot buy in ordinary shops already and low prices), but I'm not sure whether it works internationally. Maybe there is some contact e-mail address where you can ask.
