Wow did Charles and Joe Kagen treat Mrs Olson poorly for this trip. She falls in the water,they laugh, she sees Kagen taking a bath he just laughs at her. Just awful stuff. They really treated that family poorly at times

Agreed. She was often a real witch. But they were not being gentlemen at all!
And this is during a time where chivalry was supposed to be in held in very high regard.

It's really bad considering she's financing the whole thing. Why she bothered, I'll never know. Same thing with extending credit to the Ingalls family - Laura and Albert repay her by tricking her into transporting a log full of bees and she gets stung countless times.
